Anuradha Sarma Pujari is one of the leading novelists, storytellers, journalists, educators and magazine editors of Assam.

He was born in 1964 in Jorhat. He completed his primary education in Jorhat and graduated from Devicharan Baruah College, Jorhat. Then he attained M. A. degree in Sociology from Dibrugarh University and a Diploma in Journalism from the Birla Institute of Liberal Arts and Management, Calcutta. 

Anuradha Sarma Pujari started his career as a teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts, Calcutta. After this, he started working as a journalist for ‘Amar Asom’. He edited the magazines as- ‘Sadin’ and ‘Satsari’ for some years.

Anuradha Sarma Pujari has written many novels besides to her busy career as a journalist. His most notable novels are: Hridoy Ek Bigyapan’, ‘Chaheb Purar Barsun’, ‘Kanchan’, ‘Nahar Niribili Chan’, ‘Boragi Nadir Bat’, ‘Mereng’, ‘Sun Harinar Chekur’ etc. In addition to writing novels, he is an accomplished storyteller also. His published storybooks are: ‘Basantar Gan, Ajan Asamajik Kabir Biography, Ketherinar Saite Ati Nirjan Dupariya, No Men’s Land’ etc.

Anuradha Sarma Pujari has published some collections of autobiographical essays, as: ‘Kalikatar Chithi’, ‘Dayeri’ and ‘Autograph’. For his novel ‘Chaheb Purar Barsun’, he won the ‘Kumar Kishore Sovarni Banta’ of Assam Sahitya Sabha. In 2013, he was awarded the ‘Renaissance Assam Award’ in recognition of his literary and news services. Recently, he is honoured with the Vishnu Rava Award. 0 0 0
