Trilokyanath Goswami-Brief Life Sketch
Trailokyanath Goswami (1906-1988) was a prominent Assamese storyteller and critic. He was born in Nalbari Satra. After completing his education, he became the principal of Nalbari College and began to write short stories on the pages of ‘Abahan’ (magazine). His published short story books are—Aruna, Silpir Janma and Jibanar Jiya Jui. His stories depict the plight of the poor and the neglected classes of people. The language of Trilokyanath Goswami is rich. Trailokyanath Goswami has authored a number of theoretical and critical works that include—Sahitya Alochana, Adhunik Galpa Sahitya, Nandan Tattba: Prachya and Pachchayatya, and Samudra Manthan.Â
In addition to being the President of the Assam Sahitya Sabha, he won the Sahitya Akademi Award and the Assam Publishing Award.
