Kalidas was a famous Sanskrit poet and playwright. He was born in the ancient city of Ujjain in India. He was the royal poet of Raja Vikramaditya. He wrote a number of poems and plays. ‘Kumar Sambhav’, and ‘Raghubangsham’ are his two epics. Abhijnan Shakuntala, Malvikagni Mitra, Bikramorbash are some plays written by him. His writings are endowed with a highly poetic quality. His works have been translated into many languages of the world. Kalidasa is known as the ‘Shakespeare’ of India. 0 0 0
