Dhirendra Chandra Dutta-Brief Life Sketch
Dhirendra Chandra Datta (1910-1972) was a prolific Assamese poet and communist revolutionary.
Dhirendra Chandra Dutt was born in Karunating Garden. His father’s name was Dr. Sarat Chandra Dutta. Their home was in Bikrampur, near Dhaka, Bangladesh. While he was still a child, his parents migrated to Assam and settled at Baruwa Bamungaon in Golaghat. At the call of the motherland, Dhirendra Chandra Dutta got involved in the service of the country just after he completed his primary education. He was a believer in the communist ideology. He nursed the idealism of a true revolutionary in the interest of becoming a peasant.
The picture of pathos and the struggle of the working class people is reflected in his poems.
He died of tuberculosis at Civil Hospital, Jorhat in 1982. 0 0 0
