Jnannath Bora-Brief Life Sketch
Jnannath Bora (1890-1968) was an Assamese writer and literary critic. He was born in Guwahati. His father’s name was Satyanath Bora and his mother’s name was Bhuvan Mohini. He was inspired by his father Satyanath Bora (who was a prominent Assamese prose writer) to study literature. He passed B A from Cotton College and B L from Earl Law College. He first practised law in Guwahati and then for twenty years in the Calcutta High Court
He wrote such books as, ‘Asomat Bideshi’, Yugatatva’, ‘Purani Asomiya Sahitya’, ‘Adhunik Asomiya Sahitya’ etc. Jnannath Bora was the president of the Assam Sahitya Sabha session in Tezpur in 1968.
