Anne Enright is an Irish author and creative writing teacher, born in Dublin on October 11, 1962. She received a degree in English and Philosophy from Trinity College, Dublin in 1983. Enright has published several novels, including “The Wig My Father Wore” (1995), “What Are You Like?” (2000), “The Pleasure of Elsie” (2001), “The Gathering” (2007), which won the Man Booker Prize, “The Forgotten Waltz” (2011), and “Actress” (2019).

Enright has also written numerous short stories, which have appeared in various literary magazines and anthologies. In addition, she has written essays on writing, culture, and motherhood, which have been collected in several anthologies, including “Making Babies: Stumbling into Motherhood” (2004).

Enright is known for her frank and often humorous writing style, and her work often explores themes such as family, relationships, and identity. She has received numerous literary awards and honors, including the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature and the Irish Fiction Prize.
