Amrish Puri | Brief Biography
Amrish Puri was a legendary Indian actor, who appeared in over 400 films. He was born on June 22, 1932 in Nawanshahr, Punjab, British India and passed away on January 12, 2005, in Mumbai, India.
He started his acting career in the late 1950s and gained recognition in the 1970s for his villainous roles in Bollywood films. He is best known for his roles as Mogambo in “Mr. India” (1987) and as Mola Ram in “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” (1984). He also appeared in international films such as “Gandhi” (1982) and “City of Joy” (1992).
Puri received several awards for his acting, including the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for “Vijay” (1988) and the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for “Arohan” (1982).
In addition to his acting career, Puri was also a trained classical singer and had a passion for poetry. He was known for his versatility as an actor and his distinctive deep voice.
Amrish Puri left a lasting legacy in Indian cinema and continues to be remembered as one of the greatest actors in Bollywood history. 0 0 0.
