Vishnu Prasad Rabha-Brief Life Sketch

Vishnu Prasad Rabha was an Assamese poet, writer, dancer, singer, actor and playwright. He was born in 1909 in Dhaka. During his childhood, he along with his parents settled in Assam. He took part in the independence movement of India and was imprisoned several times. He wrote revolutionary songs and incited the people against British rule. Vishnu Prasad Rabha was awarded the title of ‘Kalaguru’ (a great Master of Arts) by the University of Guwahati in recognition of his talent in almost all branches of arts. He died in 1969 living a life of penury all his life. 0 0 0
