Sunil Gangopadhyay (7 September 1934 – 23 October 2012) was a Bengali author and poet, who was considered one of the leading literary figures in modern Bengali literature. He was born in Faridpur, East Bengal (present-day Bangladesh) and spent his early years in Kolkata.
Sunil Gangopadhyay was a prolific writer, who wrote across a wide range of genres, including novels, poetry, essays, and children’s literature.
