Justin Trudeau | Brief Biography

Justin Trudeau was the 23rd Prime Minister of Canada, serving from 2015 to 2021. He was born on December 25, 1971, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, to former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and Margaret Sinclair.

Justin Trudeau received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature from McGill University in 1994 and a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of British Columbia in 1998. He later earned a degree in Engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal in 2002.

Before entering politics, Justin Trudeau worked as a teacher and as a civil society activist. He was elected as the Member of Parliament for the riding of Papineau in 2008 and was reelected in 2011, 2015, and 2019. In 2013, he was elected leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, and the party went on to win the 2015 federal election, with Trudeau becoming the Prime Minister.

During his time in office, Trudeau focused on progressive policies, such as legalizing marijuana, promoting gender equality, and supporting the fight against climate change. He also signed the Paris Agreement on climate change and the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement.

Justin Trudeau faced criticism for his handling of certain issues, such as the controversy over the construction of the Trans Mountain pipeline and his administration’s handling of the SNC-Lavalin affair. In the October 2019 federal election, Trudeau and the Liberal Party were reelected with a minority government.

On October 22, 2021, Justin Trudeau stepped down as Prime Minister after the Liberal Party lost a confidence vote in the House of Commons. He remains a Member of Parliament and continues to play a prominent role in Canadian politics. 0 0 0.
