Dr Joyshree Goswami Mahanta-Brief Life Sketch
Dr Joyshree Goswami Mahanta is an eminent Assamese educationalist and famous writer. He was born in 1960. He served as a Professor in the Department of Zoology, the University of Guwahati. He represented Assam as a Member of Rajya Sabha from 1999 to 2002.
Dr Jayshree Goswami Mohanta has written many short stories, novels, poems, children’s literature and many thought-provoking essays. His, ‘Mahakab’, ‘Gandhar’i, ‘Chanakya’ are three famous research novels. Among his collections of short stories mention may be made of ‘Annya Ek Ratnakar’ and ‘Owali Yowa Chadar’. ‘Asom Andolan: Yugamiya Chintar Pratifalan’ is a collection of his essay. ‘Chemoniyar Bishwa Sahitya’, ‘Bishwar Shrestha Sadhu’ are some books he wrote for children. He also edited a newspaper called ‘Adinar Sambad’.
In 2018, the Government of India honoured him with the ‘Padmashri’ title. 0 0 0
