Dimbeshwar Neog-Brief Life Sketch
Dimbeshwar Neog (1899-1966) was an Assamese poet, critic, researcher and historian. He was born in the Kamardafiya village of Shivsagar. His father’s name was Manik Chandra. He completed his schooling at Shivsagar and graduated from Cotton College and became a teacher in a government school. Later, he passed M. A. and B. T. After that, he started teaching in different institutions and retired as a teacher. Since his college life, he began to write poems and essays on the magazine ‘Bahi’. His poetry books are—‘Malika’ ‘Thupitara’, ‘Malati’, ‘Indradhanu’, ‘Mukuta’, ‘Swahid Karabala’, ‘Thapana’  etc. His other books are—‘Adhunik Asomiya Sahityar Burunji’ Adhunik Asomiya Sahityar Burunjit Avumiki’, ‘Vaishnava Dharmar Ati-guri’, Vaishnava Dharmar Krama-bistar’ and ‘Growth of the Assamese Language’. Dimbeshwar Neog also authored a number of books in English.
He presided over the Assam Sahitya Sabha session held in 1975. 0 0 0
