Anisul Hoque | Brief Biography

Anisul Hoque is a Bengali author, journalist, and screenwriter. He was born on June 1, 1962, in Noakhali, Bangladesh. He completed his undergraduate studies in English literature at the University of Dhaka. After graduation, he worked as a journalist for several years before starting his career as a full-time writer.

Hoque is best known for his works of fiction, which are widely read and appreciated by Bengali-speaking audiences. His writing style is characterized by its simplicity, humor, and social commentary. Some of his most popular works include “Ei Ghor Ei Songshar,” “Jibon Namer Rail Garita,” “Dukhai,” and “Bhalobasha Zindabad.” He has also written several non-fiction works, including “Amra Jibon Nibash Nai,” which is a collection of essays about contemporary Bengali society.

In addition to his writing, Hoque has also worked as a screenwriter for several Bengali television dramas and films. His screenplays are known for their strong storylines and relatable characters and have been widely appreciated by audiences.

Anisul Hoque has received numerous awards and recognition for his work, including the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Screenplay in 2003, the Ananda Purashkar in 2006, and the Ekushey Padak in 2020.
