Imdadul Haq Milon | Brief Biography

Imdadul Haq Milon is a Bengali author who is widely regarded as one of the leading writers in contemporary Bengali literature. He was born in Narayanganj, Bangladesh on May 5, 1965. Milon’s family is originally from the village of Baiddya in Narayanganj.

Milon completed his primary and secondary education in Narayanganj and went on to study at the University of Dhaka, where he received a degree in Bangla literature. After completing his studies, he worked as a teacher for several years before turning to full-time writing in the late 1990s.

Milon’s writing career took off with the publication of his first novel, “Ei Ghor Ei Songsar” in 1997. The novel was widely acclaimed and established Milon as a powerful voice in Bengali literature. In the years that followed, Milon continued to produce critically acclaimed works, including “Nirbashito” (2000), “Chaikatha” (2003), and “Ami O Sobai” (2007).

Imdadul Haq Milon’s writing is characterized by a deep engagement with the social and political realities of contemporary Bangladesh. His works often address themes of injustice, oppression, and the human condition. He has been praised for his ability to craft powerful and moving stories that resonate with readers across the country.
