Hem Baruah-Brief Life Sketch
Hem Baruah (1915-1977) was an Assamese politician, poet and writer. He was born in Tezpur. He passed the entrance examination from Tezpur Government High School and did his B.Sc. from Cotton College and M.A. from Calcutta University. Hem Baruah started his career as a lecturer at Jorhat College in 1940. He was also the editor of ‘Pashowa’ and the daily ‘Assam Express’. Notable among his literary works are Balichanda, Adhunik Sahitya, Aei Gaon Aei Geet, Mekong Nai Dekhilon, Israel, Smritir Papari, Sanmiholi, Ranga Karabir Phul, Kannadi, and The Red River and the Blue. 0 0 0
