Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941) was a Bengali poet, playwright, and philosopher who was the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913. He was a prolific writer and his works covered a wide range of themes, including nationalism, humanism, love, and spirituality. Some of his best-known works include ‘Gitanjali’, a collection of poems, and the play ‘The Home and the World’.

Rabindranath Tagore was also a visual artist, painter, and musician. He composed over 2,000 songs, which are known as Rabindra Sangeet and are still popular in Bengal and throughout India. He also founded an experimental school called Santiniketan in 1901, which aimed to provide a holistic education that combined traditional Indian and Western approaches.
