Kazi Nazrul Islam | Brief Biography
Kazi Nazrul Islam (1899-1976) was a Bengali poet, musician, and revolutionary who is widely regarded as the national poet of Bangladesh. Born in the town of Churulia in present-day West Bengal, India, Nazrul’s family was poor, but his father was a devout Muslim who instilled in him a love of language and learning.
Nazrul started writing poems in his teens and was soon recognized for his unique style and powerful themes.
