Dinesh Chandra Goswami (1949 -) was an Assamese scientist and science writer.
Dr Dinesh Chandra Goswami was born in 1949. He passed the matriculation examination from Rangiya High School and got his college education at Cotton College, Guwahati. He later completed his postgraduate and Ph. D. degrees in Physics from Guwahati University. After completing his education, Dr Goswami first served as a teacher at Cotton College. Later on, he served as a scientist at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, New Delhi and then at the Regional Research Institute in Jorhat. He retired in 2009 as the Director and Scientific Advisor of the Regional Laboratory.
Dinesh Chandra Goswami had made special contributions to Assamese science literature. He has written about fifty books on popular science and science fiction. His notable books are – Boigyanik Mon and Boigyanik Manosikata, Satadik Mahan Bigyani, Jonakir Jilikani, Ushna Praba and Mohaniya Bishwabrahmanda.Â
In addition to these books, he translated 18 books from English and other languages. He was the editor of a scientific magazine called ‘Drishti’ for several years. Dinesh Chandra Goswami was the editor-in-chief of three volumes of the ‘Encyclopedia of Science’ published by the Assam Sahitya Sabha. 0 0 0
