Upendra Nath Goswami-Brief Life Sketch
Upendra Nath Goswami (1923-2000) is an Assamese linguist, researcher and critic. He was born in Nalbari Satra. Initially, he taught at Kanai College and Cotton College. He later joined the Assamese Department of the University of Guwahati and retired as the head of the Department. He had written several research books on linguistics in English. His most notable books are: A Study on Kamrupi: A Dialect of Assamese, An Introduction to Assamese. He also wrote some books in Assamese, as: Bhakha Bigyan, Bhakha Aru Sahitya, Asomiya Bhakhar Rupakatha, Asomiya Bhakhar Byakaran, Asomiya Lipi, Asomiya Bhakhar Udbav, Samridhi Aru Bikash, Vaishnava Vakti-dhara and Santa Katha.
