She was born on April 21, 1926, in London, England as the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York, who later became King George VI. She became Queen at the age of 25, following the death of her father, King George VI, in 1952.
Queen Elizabeth II has been on the throne for over 70 years, making her the longest-reigning British monarch in history.
