C N Adichie (Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie)  is a Nigerian novelist, writer and public speaker. She was born on September 15, 1977, in Enugu, Nigeria. Adichie studied Medicine and Pharmacy at the University of Nigeria before transferring to Drexel University in Philadelphia, where she graduated with a degree in Communication and Political Science.

Adichie’s literary career began with her first novel, “Purple Hibiscus,” published in 2003. The novel received critical acclaim and won the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best First Book. Her second novel, “Half of a Yellow Sun,” published in 2006, won the Orange Prize for Fiction and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award.
