Back-formation

: the formation of words by subtracting something from old ones. Most of the words formed by back-formation are by means of subtracting suffix or prefix. For example, we can make the word ‘darkle’ from the word ‘darkling’ by subtracting –’ling’ which is generally called a suffix. 0 0 0.
