And let’s be real, sometimes that excitement and wonder come in the form of some truly ridiculous outfits.

Take, for example, the infamous meat dress worn by Lady Gaga at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. Yes, you read that right. A dress made entirely out of raw meat. Not exactly the most practical or comfortable fashion choice, but hey, it definitely got people talking.

One term that always makes me chuckle is “athleisure.” This is the idea that workout clothes can be fashionable enough to wear outside of the gym. Now, I’m all for comfort and practicality, but let’s be real: if you’re wearing leggings and a sports bra to brunch, you’re not fooling anyone. You’re not going for a run later, you’re just trying to look trendy.

And don’t even get me started on the concept of “fast fashion.” This is the idea that clothing should be produced quickly and inexpensively so that consumers can constantly update their wardrobes with the latest trends. It’s great for the fashion industry, but not so great for the environment or the workers who make the clothes.
