‘Digital’ is the adjective form of the word ‘digit’ that means any of the numerals from 0 to 9, especially when forming part of a number. In modern technology, the word ‘Digital’ refers to the electronic technology that generates, stores, and processes data in terms of positive and non-positive states. The modern world is termed as the ‘digital world’ because of the availability and the use of digital tools to communicate on the internet through digital devices like computers, smartphones, i-phones etc. The Digital India initiative is a very meaningful program launched by the Government of India to improve digital connectivity and make governance in the country more transparent. Digital technologies are increasingly being used in day-to-day life. This technology is used for bill payment, booking tickets, transferring money, etc. It is being used in retail stores, educational institutions, government offices and almost everywhere. They help us in online transactions, connect with each other and share information from anywhere in the world. Digital India is transforming India and revolutionizing people’s lives through various aspects of the program. There has been tremendous growth in the various services and sectors that make our country a digital one. It aims to train rural people, make them digitally literate and provide various job opportunities in rural areas. With the effective implementation of e-governance, information technology can reach the common man. There is no doubt that Digital Technology has revolutionized our world of ours and has been transforming our lifestyle tremendously yet it has some disadvantages also as: security issues, terrorism, complexity, social disconnect, work overload, plagiarism, fake data, addiction etc. In conclusion, it is to say that the advantages of the use of digital technology outweigh its disadvantages. 0 0 0
